TheBus resumes operations

HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services (DTS) will resume TheBus service mid-morning Sunday, 8/16/2026 following the Saturday suspension of service due to the effects of Tropical Storm Lala. Service restoration will commence at 8:00 a.m. and will require two hours or more for implementation.
We thank everyone for their patience as we work to restore TheBus service and work towards operating our full Sunday schedule, however, due to ongoing weather conditions and workforce availability, TheBus riders may experience missing scheduled trips through Sunday.
Skyline and Handi-Van services will operate their regular service, however, please allow extra travel time due to any weather or safety-related service delays and exercise extreme caution if driving. Travel with caution, and mahalo for riding with us.
