FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 1, 2026

HONOLULU – The Hawai‘i Public Utilities Commission will conduct public informational meetings across the state beginning Oct. 5 to discuss Hawaiian Electric’s recent storm-related service outages and impacts.

Each meeting will include statements from Hawaiian Electric and the Consumer Advocate, along with opportunities for residents to share concerns and feedback on electric service reliability. Public input gathered at these meetings will help inform the commission’s ongoing review and future planning of Hawaiʻi’s energy system.

Residents are encouraged to submit written comments in addition to attending the meetings. Comments should reference Docket No. 2021-0024 and include “Outage 2026” in the subject line. Written comments may be submitted online, by email, or by mail.
